this is more like a everyones favorites movies of all time...which is what I had in mind...everyone who likes a certain movie a lot consider it one of the best ever and how dare you call The Godfather boring ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I didn't call Godfather boring. I was just saying a list of only "accepted" best movies was boring.

I agree. Movies are for entertainment, so your favorite and what you consider best are one and the same on that standard, though I'm sure those who view movies as an art form might disagree with such a viewpoint.

There's totally a difference between favorite movie and what you consider best movie.
For instance, take Shovelman's list.
He's got The Marine in at 100. Why? Because it sucks so bad, he couldn't help but enjoy it.
Does that mean he thinks it's the 100th greatest movie ever made of all time?

When I recompile it in a few years will it be on the list? I doubt it but it's possible.

I wouldn't say they're an art form like Emoticon suggested...but close. And yes I would have 2001 on a list of 'best' movies ever and not favorite movies. If that makes me boring, then I can't help that.

The way I look at movies lends itself to the two being one in the same. And I don't think I'll ever understand the "it sucks so bad that it's good" thing. To me, if something sucks then it sucks. I don't like anything BECAUSE it sucks.

But that doesn't mean you're not completely entertained by watching the wreck itself.

I think your favorite and best would be pretty much the same, just because alot of people accept a movie as being "the best" doesn't mean it has to be to you.
also something that sucks so bad that it's good would be something that wasn't supposed to funny, and ends up being hilarious therefor making it good in a weird way.

Now if it's crappy and boring, that's just So Bad It's Horrible

Okay, it's sent.
Not quite definite, though. I'm horrible at rating stuff like that, as I like most of that list the same, save for the top three.
