Remember those Troll dolls that used to be popular way back when? You know, those little chibi things with the hair? Well, Stone Protectors was basically an attempt to make them cool to boys by making them like the TMNT. The entire franchise, from the toys to the cartoon to the game, was about some evil Troll creature trying to conquer the world or something by gathering a set of special stones and a band of humans being given those stones so that they could turn into mystical protectors, hence the name.
The game itself was just your standard side-scrolling beat 'em up game, ala TMNT: Turtles in Time.

Now that you mention it, the guys on the box art do look like the troll dolls in the face.

Yeah. That particular gimmick was kept for the Stone Protectors toyline; each figure had a soft plastic face which sported a shock of hair ranging from a mohawk to a ponytail. They also had a gimmick where rotated their arms caused a light to spark within their chest which lit the stone attached to it. Other than that, though, they were basically the same as the more popular TMNT toys.

I remember the Lion King game; my brother rented it once. It was marginally better than the movie... but wasn't my cup of tea.

I have the sequel to that, but I didn't really like it. Even having a team consisting of three vikings, a werewolf, and a dragon wasn't enough to make me enjoy that type of gameplay.

Lost Vikings is pretty cool.
And I find it kinda funny that you put up a picture of Earthworm Jim for Genesis.
So far, all the Super Star Wars games and DK Country are the only things that were on my list.
I have kinda a predictable list of SNES games.

I played Zombies Ate My Neighbors a few times and liked it, but as I never owned it I haven't played it enough to have many fond memories of it.
And Donkey Kong Country was great, but one of the sequels is better.
