My job consists of grading papers, helping any kid brave enough to ask for my help on their homework, and showing off Transformers to kids who do their work.
I repeat: I love my job.
Just felt like sharing that, since I had an excellent day at work today.

There are tutoring centers all over the country... so if helping little kids out sounds good to you, then go for it. It's certainly not the highest-paying job in the world, and some of the kids will make you want to commit acts of rage and destruction (some of the parents too, no doubt), but it's still a pretty sweet gig if you're into this sort of thing.
The Transformers aspect of my job is completely my own deal, though. My boss is just cool, so she lets me bring them up to show the kids so long as it doesn't become a distraction. Other bosses might not be so laid back.

I had a similar summer job back in HS. It was basically a summer school program, and a handful of HS students were brought in as teaching assistants. It was for elementary school students, and we got to grade papers and offer any additional help when necessary. Did it two straight summers before going to college. The hours were great (8 am - 1 pm for five weeks), the pay was good ($8 an hour, no taxes), and it was the easiest job I've ever had. And on top of that, it was an enjoyable and rewarding experience to be able to work with kids that needed the extra help.

That's one of the best things about this job: the hours. Outside of days when the kids come in for tutoring, I get to make my own hours. Most times, I either go to the center early in the morning so I can grade papers while listening to music, or I take my work home with me so I can do it between classes.
And yeah, working with kids is definitely a rewarding experience, particularly when they have learning disabilities.
