I'm now a Proofreader/Page Editor for the Daily Advance newspaper. Unfortunately, it doesn't pay much considering the amount of work I have to do - mostly correspondence with readers since the last editor did NONE and they just shifted all that s*** to me today. Joy, and sorrow.

One of the first letters I fielded:
"To whom it may concern: In yesterday's paper there were hundreds of spelling errors all related to the city of 'Camden's name. Instead of Camden, you wrote Carnden. I realize they look similar, but please fix this issue in the future."
Since there was no date on the letter, I looked through the mail before and after it, then read each of the newspapers from those two days. It wasn't spelled 'Carnden', it was spelled correctly.
"Dear Sir,
Thank you for your vigilance and continued business. After reviewing the estimated date of your letter (I'm afraid I had to estimate, the letter was not dated) I came to the conclusion that there were no errors in the name 'Camden'. As you said, 'm' and 'rn' do seern sirnilar with our typeface and it is easy to see where this rnistake rnight have occured.
Thank you."
I wonder if he'll catch the 'RN's in the last sentence. Heh.

Well, I'm almost caught up now and soon I'll be able to start helping with the page layouts and such. I look forward to it, good experience.
