Last year I compiled a list of my 100 favorite movies and posted them on Facebook. Now I bring that list to you...pretty much by TLE's request. Now keep in mind that there are some movies that would be on this list if I recompiled them today like There Will be Blood, Hot Fuzz, Wall-E and The Dark Knight but it'll be a few years before I do so.
Now how do I compile my list? I made this list based on greatness, rewatchability and entertainment. I'll give you a couple examples of like Gone With the Wind...yes, it's great and yes I did give it five stars but it's not something I could rewatch anytime I want. Another is The Godfather...it's not that entertaining, I gave it such a high rating for the technical aspects for they were all top notch.
Also, after each movie, I'll list the three best moments in it.
So let's get started...in the next post.
PS: There will be no pictures, way too lazy.

#100: The Marine I know, how can I soil a new top 100 list already with The Marine. By all accounts of taste and good movie-making, this movie absolutely sucks but it's that very reason why it's here. It is, or should be, the poster-child for all "so-bad-it's-good" movies. Movies just don't come any unintentionally funnier than this with it's lack of logic, story-wise and explosion-wise. Yeah...this movie does stop justifying why stuff is exploding by the end of the movie. In the end, it's a movie that's filled with non-stop laughs with its illogical action, bad acting and other acts of ludicrously. It gives me hope that John Cena's next movie, 12 Rounds, is just as funny...despite Renny Harlin directing it. Then I saw the trailer to 12 Rounds and there wasn't a laugh to be found. Awesome Moment 1: John Cena's strategy for going around Iraqi terrorists - "We're not, we're going THROUGH!" Awesome Moment 2: Cena outrunning the explosion at the gas station where he has the face of a crying little girlie-man, funniest part of the movie. Awesome Moment 3: A truck dives out of an explosion!

I like The Marine, too. And not even in a "it's bad but somehow that makes it good" way. Just a "wow, that was a fun movie and I like it" way.

Mr. Emoticon Man, you're a weirdo taking it seriously.
Bob, you have no sense of humor.

You forgot the best part of The Marine.
Where he uses the bottom of a car to shield himself from bullets in mid air.

#99 Robocop Finally, we're upon the first truly good movie on the list...Robocop. Part man, part cop, all awesome. Now before this, the director, Paul Verhoeven, was just an average foreign film director with his movies going to the art-house where snobs watch. After this, he became the go-to foreign guy for violence and sex and it's all thanks to this. Yes, this movie is violent but we do care about Robocop and that's what elevates this to legendary status. When Peter Weller is being gunned down, we want him to live and get revenge...as a human! But when Robocop debuts and then remembers who he was and finally gets revenge, there's almost a warm, fuzzy feeling in there as he finally wins and that is why this is on the list. But please avoid the joyless, mean-spirited and boring Robocop 2 and the the laughable, albeit laughably entertaining, Robcop 3. Awesome Moment #1: "Excuse me, I must go. Somewhere there is a crime happening." Awesome Moment #2: The drug-house shoot out Awesome Moment #3: Robocop reading Red Foreman his rights while throwing him through windows.

Heh. I know Frank Miller had something to do with the writing of the film, and it kinda shows. I like him and all, but everything he writes has this running theme of violence and not much else.
As for Robocop the film, ED 209 is my boy. Funny that he's defeated by stairs.

But if you knew anything at all you would know that Miller's script for Robocop 2 and 3(he did write it) were basically written beyond all recognition so you can't blame him. And that experience is why Miller avoided Hollywood until Robert Rodriguez came by with Sin City.

And then The Spirit happened.
Happy ending for all.
The end.

#98 Men In Black A nice breezy action-comedy. Yeah, a movie that relies on special effects, an easy-going atmosphere and likeable chemistry between Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith shouldn't really make this a list-worthy movie but why can't it. Besides, this is my list and I just put The Marine on there so nyah. This movie is just pure eye-candy blockbuster and it's one of the best. Be warned about the sequel though, it doesn't have the same likability the first one had but it's not a horrible disgrace. Awesome Moment 1: Will Smith delivering an alien baby. Awesome Moment 2: "NYPD! Do you know what means, I will kNock Your Punkass Down!" Awesome Moment 3: Will Smith fires The Noisy Cricket

Men In Black used to be a favorite around my house once upon a time, but I don't look upon it so fondly anymore. Not sure why, though.

#97 Waterworld People say this is a bloated, action movie that showcases the worst of the Hollywood summer season. I say those people got it wrong. I say it's one of the best jerk-movies (a movie that regularly insults the characters, see The Mummy and The Mummy Returns). That's the what I love it, Kevin Costner insulting Jeannie Tripplehorn and that girl, throwing them off the boat, hitting them and that little girl calling his boat ugly and taking his crayons to color it. But yes, there is action in this and it's decent action but the comedy is what's memorable in this. Awesome Moment 1: The look Kevin Costner gives to Jeannie Tripplehorn when she asks if drifters stopped for each other. Awesome Moment 2: Dennis Hopper uses his new eye Awesome Moment 3: That girl giving Dennis Hopper a Steven Seagal Badass speech about Kevin Costner

It is very different than the movie. There are some similarities, but it was heavily rewritten.

#96 The Fly(1986) Let it be known that I do not worship the ground that David Cronenburg walks on, despite most everyone does. I mean The Brood wasn't all good, granted it was before his great works, Scanners was overrated as was History of Violence and eXistenZ was a piece of s***. So the only other two movies that I have seen are the great ones: Videodrome, which almost made the list, and this one, The Fly. The Fly is basically Jeff Goldblum at his craziest. It's a movie that revels in insanity as Cronenburg slowly but surely showcases the disintegration of Godlblum's humanity as the fly DNA slowly takes over. By the end, it all climaxes in blood, metal and tears as the movie takes control of our emotions and makes us care. Awesome Moment 1: "Be afraid, be very afraid." Awesome Moment 2: Jeff Goldblum puking on Geena Davis's would-be boyfriend's ankle and watching it dissolve. Awesome Moment 3: The ending..so poignant.
