MAYA RUDOLPH joined SNL's cast in 2000, and hung around until 2007. She's made a few cameos in 2008 and 2009. Her characters include Britanica, of the pop group Gemini's Twin (a Destiny's Child parody); attorney Glenda Goodwin; Megan, from the high school show Wake Up, Wakefield!; a space creature in the Gays in Space sketches; and the confoundingly foreign art dealer Nuni Schoener. Her impressions include Barbra Streisand, Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, Donatella Versace, Justin Guarini, Lucy Liu, Oprah, Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner, and Whitney Houston. She's done a LOT of singing on the show, basically. Also, she once seduced Shia Lebeouf, because "Maya" rhymes with "Shia".
Rudolph's work off-SNL includes roles in films such as Idiocracy, Gattaca, and Away We Go. And she'll be appearing in the film Grown Ups alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. She's also been a member of the band The Rentals, and sang a few duets with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on his album, Come Poop with Me.
TINA FEY was an SNL castmember for six seasons, starting in 2000 and leaving the show in 2006 (though she was head writer for the show before joining the cast). She's made cameos since then, and she's hosted the show in 2008. Her characters include a cocktail waitress in Chris Kattan's Rialto Grande sketches, and a space lesbian in the Gays in Space sketches. Her most famous impression is Sarah Palin, though she's also performed impressions of Paris Hilton, Barbara Pierce Bush, Bea Arthur, Daisy De La Hoya (of Rock of Love fame), and Janice Dickinson, among others. Fey is most famous, though, for co-anchoring Weekend Update, first with Jimmy Fallon, and then with Amy Poehler, after Fallon left the show (I think I may have put too many commas into this sentence). Fey's tenure behind the Update desk was brimming with sexual chemistry, with both Fallon and Poehler (hotness!). At any rate, Fey's work on SNL earned her an Emmy for writing in 2002.
After leaving SNL, Fey created and starred in the show 30 Rock, alongside Tracy Morgan and Alec Baldwin; she wrote and appeared in the film Mean Girls, and starred in Baby Mama, alongside Amy Poehler. Fey will star in the film Date Night alongside Steve Carell. Fey has also appeared on Maxim's Hot 100 list of the hottest women in the world in 2002, and in People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People list in 2003, '06, '07, '08, and '09. Try not to let that sway your voting, though.
