MARTIN SHORT was a castmember on SNL during the 1984-85 season. He's also hosted the show in 1986 and 1996, and has made cameos in 2005 and 2006. Short's characters include the spastic Ed Grimley, Las Vegas singer and albino Jackie Rogers Jr., and Lawrance Orback, from the famed "Synchronized Swimmers" short film. And, in one of his cameos, Short reprised his character of interviewer Jiminy Glick. Short's impressions include illusionist Doug Henning, Katherine Hepburn, Mick Jagger, and Paul Simon. I think its also interesting to note that Short played Jerry Lewis in the very first Celebrity Jeopardy sketch.
Short's work beyond SNL includes roles in the films iThree Amigos! with Chevy Chase, Innerspace, Captain Ron, Mars Attacks, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, and the remake of Father of the Bride with Steve Martin. His Ed Grimley character received his own cartoon show, The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley. Short was also the star of the show Primetime Glick on Comedy Central, and he wrote and starred in the film Jiminy Glick in Lalawood.
GARRETT MORRIS was an original SNL castmember, appearing on the first five seasons of the show. He also made a cameo on a 2002 episode. Garrett's characters include Merkon, leader of the Coneheads; Dominican baseball player Chico Escuela; and Weekend Update's "News for the Hard of Hearing" translator, who repeats Chevy Chase's lines, only shouting them. Morris has also performed impressions, including Muhammed Ali, Diana Ross, Bob Marley, Louis Armstrong, and Sherman Hemsley. And comic book fans might want to be aware he played Ant-Man in a sketch!
Garrett's post-SNL career includes a role in Larry Cohen's horror comedy The Stuff, playing Martin Lawrence's boss on the show Martin, appearances on Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Family Guy, and he's recently appeared in commercials for the Nintendo DS.
