DAN AYKROYD was a member of the original "Not Ready for Primetime Players," performing on SNL for the first 4 seasons. He's made many cameo appearances on the show over the years, and even hosted the show once in 2003. While on the show, Ayrkoyd has played Beldar Conehead, Yortuk Festrunk, a Wild and Crazy Guy with Steve Martin, Elwood Blues of the Blues Brothers with John Belushi, Ron Garvin, male prostitute, Irwin Mainway, designer and seller of unsafe toys for children (like the Bag o' glass), and the pitch-man for the Bass-o-Matic food blender. Aykroyd's notable impressions include Bob Dole, Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, and Vincent Price. Aykroyd was also co-anchor of Weekend Update with Jane Curtin, where he memorably referred to her as an "ignorant slut" during a Point/Counterpoint argument. Dan's work on SNL has earned him an Emmy award for writing, and some of his best sketches have been compiled in a "Best of" DVD.
Aykroyd's credits beyond SNL include film versions of The Blues Brothers and Coneheads, as well as Trading Places co-starring Eddie Murphy, Neighbors with John Belushi, Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 alongside Bill Murray, Nothing But Trouble with Chevy Chase (which Aykroyd also directed), Celtic Pride with Damon Wayans, and 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider, as well as a plethora of other projects.
BEN STILLER was a featured player during SNL's 1988-89 season, after showing up in a short film on the show in 1987 ("The Hustler of Money" where he displayed his Tom Cruise impression). He came back to host the show in October of 1998, and made a cameo in 2000 in another short film ("The Heat is On" where he's molested by Will Ferrell's interpretation of Glenn Frey of the Eagles). During his tenure on the show, Stiller performed impressions including the aforementioned Cruise, Butch Patrick of the Munsters (on a segment of Sprockets), and Casino developer Steve Wynn.
Stiller has worked with SNL alums extensively throughout his career, including Janeane Garofalo (actually before she joined the SNL cast, but whatever) and writer Bob Odenkirk on The Ben Stiller Show, and in The Cable Guy and Mystery Men. He also starred in There's Something About Mary with Chris Elliott, Zoolander with Will Ferrell, The Royal Tenenbaums with Bill Murray (and narration by Alec Baldwin), Starsky and Hutch and a cameo in Anchorman, again with Will Ferrell, Tropic Thunder with Robert Downey Jr. (yes, Robert is an SNL alum) and current SNL castmember Bill Hader, and many many other projects.
