foywonder.livejournal.com/176997.htmlSoooo....Rambo vs. Predator? What....the hell....what the god damn HELL is Stallone smoking? Rambo and sci-fi are two worlds which should NEVER....ever....EEEEeeever meet. If he's looking to kill the franchise, I guess all this needs is Rob Zombie at the helm.

Think about it R-Man, it's the begining of the long awaited Contra movie!
Seriously though, I still contend that in the 80's, Contra would have been the perfect property to bring Stallone and Arnold together.
The two characters are basically Rambo and John Matrix/Predator inspired characters anyway. It took place in the jungle (Rambo, Predator) and featured Aliens (Predator).

The only way I would accept a CONTRA movie, is if at some point, either Stallone or Arnold has to defeat a door with a security code programmed into it....a code which goes "up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A " and results in the same sound effect from the title screen when they enter it correctly.
;D

People are losing their minds since Rambo's now the chaser....those people are stupid.

your question implies that at one point Stallone had a mind at one point, which he didn't...at least while making Rocky 5

First of all...that is comedic gold, right there. Second of all...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You know, I actually thoroughly enjoyed the 2008 Rambo. As Foy mentioned, man, were you ever rooting for that villain to get it in that flick. But this...this sounds like a SyFy creature-of-the-week movie. Ugh...just ugh. As an aside, how's this for a thought? How about, if instead of another Stallone-as-terminator-in-human form Rambo flick, we got a more faithful-to-the-novel interpretation of the original First Blood novel by David Morrell? To put it bluntly, that book is amazing, and if they found the right actors for the Rambo and Teasle roles, we could even be talking Oscar noms.

Even having never read that novel (that I remember, unless I did years ago and it's just slipped my mind) I'd be all for that, TR. I mean, like you said, there's no way to humanly top what Rambo did (and who he did it to) in that film. Unless they steal the "Girls in White Dresses" Punisher story from Marvel and have Rambo go after a child slavery ring down south of the border. THAT was an awesome storyline, and come to think of it...Frank Castle and John Rambo DO have a bit in common, don't they?

smork no. We'll have rednecks everywhere and worst of all we'll have Sherri Moon Zombie. Heh...and somehow, we'll get flashbacks to her playing Rambo's heroin-addicted stripper mother, who, you know, really really LOVES little Johnny and never wanted him to go to Vietnam....but his alcoholic, abusive, Lynyrd Skynyrd loving stepdad (sporting cheesy mullet and sideburns even back in 1967) beats, abuses and verbally humiliates little Johnny (who ages ten years in the span of three...it's a Zombie film, don't ask)so badly that he heads to NAM anyway. And the legend is born.

Now, this is not meant as a knock against you, but I really DO wish I could be as relaxed as you are about changes to characters and film cannon. It would make my movie-watching a much less painful experience, in most cases. But as it is, changes like this, and like how Marvel movies have tinkered with cannon....it just drives me mad. Yet then AGAIN, I can turn around and take changes like how Two-Face was created in DARK KNIGHT in stride and not be bothered. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)
