Except for when it is.
And my dumbass little brother, when he gets home, is going to learn that when I proceed to kick his ass.

He got engaged to a girl he had been dating for a grand total of two friggin' weeks.
Since that time, he's done the following: -dropped out of college -blown a good thing with the Air Force -brought home a dog at random, and then proceeded to not do a damned thing to take care of it. -fail to ever do anything for the family, even when our mother had surgery on her foot that kept her from being able to do a lot for herself -pull out of going into the Marines just because his useless bitch of a fiance didn't want him to join. -report every last thing that we say to him to that selfish little harridan
Further, he's never had a real job, and she's pretty much a medical mess.
In short, they have nothing going for them... and my brother, in the span of less than a year, has gone from being a dependable young man with a good plan to being pretty much worthless.
We staged an intervention of sorts last night, as him pulling back from his plan with the Marines is pretty much the final straw. I mean, none of us particularly liked that plan, but at least it WAS a plan. Now, he has NO plan beyond screwin' that witch-faced fiance of his and maybe trying to get a job. Rather than listen to any of us, though, he just goes to his fiance's this morning (she lives with her parents, by the way, so its not like she has a house they can live in), tells her that we all said really mean things about her, and has more or less made it clear that he's not going to listen to a word any of us has said. For all we know, he might not even be planning on coming back.
But, if/when he does, I'm going to have words with him, and these "words" might just involve my fist meeting his gods damned face for the very first time.

Smarten his ass up! From personal experience I'm telling you knock some god damn sense into him or you'll most likely be getting a phone call that he is dead one day.

We've been trying. Problem is, he's too gods damned pussy whipped. Even his best friend has tried to talk some sense into him, but he just won't listen.
He's in for a rude awakening when he finally gets home, though. My dad's on his way to Wal-Mart to buy a "For Sale" sign. Maybe losing his truck will do him some good; at the very least, it'll keep him and that worthless fiance of his from spending every waking moment together for a bit.
Both parents have asked me not to beat him up, though, so maybe I'll defer to them for now. Besides... knowing my brother, he'd just come after me with a gun... again.

I think your brother is my brother, except without drugs.

Well, I'm effectively an only child now.
He's supposedly going to come collect his things today, so I told my mom to warn that little turd-sucker not to show up at the house when I'm here, 'cause if I see him then I'm hurting him, promise or no promise.

He's come, he's gone, and now he's out of our lives. And good riddance; he's always been a thoughtless, heartless little jerk, and now he's someone else's gods-damned problem.
I need a (root) beer.

His best friend and his boss have both tried talking some sense into him, so its now official: everyone in his life but him sees that he's making some huge mistakes.
-sigh-

Well, Emoti-man, I have to say this: you did everything you possibly could to straighten him out without beating the piss out of him. But there are some people in this world that will not learn until it hits them the hardest. And when that time comes, he'll hopefully figure it out that all of you were right, and he was wrong.

One final little insult was his soon-to-be in-laws reaction to all of this. When it was my brother's fiance who was wanting to move into our house in order to cut ties with her parents, we expressed to her that she'd need to work things out with them to the best of her ability first; we wouldn't let her move in at the drop of the hat just because she was mad. They, on the other hand, welcomed my dumbass brother without even speaking to us about it.
They were, however, so kind as to tell my brother to inform us that we weren't welcome over there if we were going to cause problems; they seem to be under the impression that we'd show up at their front door, yelling and screaming. My brother, I'm sure, didn't bother to stick up for us and defend us as not being crazies.

Ha!
I just learned that the witch-faced fiance finally got herself a job... at McDonalds.
Maybe I'm just petty and immature, but I find such a development to be pretty danged funny.
So, I repeat: Ha!

So, apparently, my parents and I are now responsible for the witch-faced fiance having medical problems. The stress of us not liking her or my brother's actions has caused her to have anxiety attacks, sleeping disorders, and unhealthy weight loss.
My little brother... he sure knows how to pick 'em.
