Rules:
1. No major Cheezing.
What is cheezing? Cheezing is taking control of anyone else’s character in any form or fashion. This can be something as small as saying that they moved in a certain way or said something to you, or it could be something as big as taking hold of someone and throwing them against a nearby wall. It can also mean saying that you grab hold of another character and teleport them to your location without their permission. It could mean saying that an attack connected and did X amount of damage.
Calling minor attacks and hits will be fine, but major attacks that can lead to damage or death need to be written in a way allowing the other play to counter.
If you work something out with another player before making your post, then that’s fine. That’s between you and the other player.
2. Power limits
First, Cthulhu and Nyarlathotep and any other of the Outer Gods, Great Old Ones and Eldritch Abominations are THE major powers. I'm not saying that in context to the story that they will never be able to be beaten, but what I am saying is that Sherlock Holmes is not going to defeat them with a pistol and his boxing skills if he randomly runs into them.
Second, Any characters rather based on pop culture icons (say like Rorschach or Michael Myers) or original (your ideas) are fine to play as so long as they aren't to powerful. So no Supermen.
Third, characters can't do things out of their realm of power. For instance Michael Myers can't shoot eye lasers (unless he got this power in the stories some way).
3. No Meta-Gaming.
If you know something out of character, don't apply it to knowledge that your character has. For instance, Jason (that's me, Deadpool) can read bob making a post meeting secretly with rebel forces. However, that does not mean that Nekopool knows this is going on.
Along those same lines, don't come up with some god-like, seemingly impossible explanation for your character to know this information. If characters A and B are having a private conversation plotting about character C, then character C shouldn't use super-sonic hearing to "overhear" the conversation. Let them have their conversation. It creates a lot of interesting character interactions.
4. Respect Your Fellow RP'ers
This is important. Respect them enough to read their posts and not to take control of their characters. You will only get as much respect as you show.
Other Things To Note!
Finally, we would like those of you involved in this to realize that this is not going to be like the semi-silly Madness War topics on Wrestlecrap. While we're not asking for super descriptive brick walls of text, we do want to see some descriptiveness in your posts. As I'm sure some old-timey old-timers from the Madness topics have noticed, 'Pool, Tep, and myself have been trying to make our posts more detailed, and hopefully you will all be willing to follow along. Again, we're not asking for a novel, but we ARE asking for a bit more than "*dodges and fires lasers from eyes at [name goes here]*".
Thank you.
