Am I the only one who hates it when people double-dip while eating salsa or cheese dip? You know, where the person dips their chip, takes a bite, and then re-dips that same piece of chip? ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)

So is this just a massive Seinfeld reference, or what?
I've never known people to do it in real life, but if they did, it would be disgusting, yeah.

I never watched Seinfeld... so no, this isn't one of those pop-culture reference threads.
Someone double-dipped with the cheese dip last night, and it was so revolting that I couldn't bring myself to eat any, thus marring an otherwise great meal.

Yeah, good god. Might as well spit in the dip, it's the same thing.

Yeah. Worst part? There were bits and pieces of other foodstuffs (ie, something besides the dip or the chips) in the dip by the end of the meal.
It wasn't a very pleasant sight.

I only double dip at home. I find it rude to do so at partys.

Here's a question.
Now I don't do this, but is it the same thing if someone takes, say a chip, and dips it, bites into it and then turns it to a part of the same chip that hasn't been in said person's mouth yet and dips again?
...god bless you if you understand what I even meant by that.

I think I do you dip a chip and eat the portion of the chip with the dip in it you then take the part of the chip that wasn't eaten, but was in your mouth, then dip it again

Is that considered nasty as well?

I understand you. But while that is less disgusting that doing it the other way, it's still kinda gross. Besides, I doubt most people would pay that much attention to realize you're using an unsoiled portion of the chip when you go in for the second dip, so the gesture would likely be lost and you'd be branded as a disgusting double-dipper the same as if you didn't do it that way. Personally, if a chip is too big for me to eat it in one bite, I just snap it in half before I start dipping.
