Interesting article there from DC.
As for the next sequel in the Halloween series, just so nobody thinks I'm blowing smoke, from the Los Angeles Times:
One of the possible directors being mentioned is Steve Miner, btw.

A different take? Are you serious, Weinsteins? How much of a frickin' different take can you get on HALLOWEEN? I mean, unless they scrap Myers entirely and just go with a series of brutal, "first person POV" deaths on Halloween night.
Which would be a turd bomb the studio can ill afford right now.
EDIT: you know what series actually MIGHT be cool in 3D?
The GRUDGE. Imagine Kayako actuall croaking and crawling off the screen at you.....
*Brrrrrr*

Maybe they could go along these lines or something.

Halloween 3 was a different take and it dared to be different. Maybe Halloween 3D could be that different even though I doubt it

Alright, since it appears we have another full year of anticipating the latest Michael Myers-inspired stinkbomb...
September and October are generally the best time of year to be a horror fan. Countless scary flicks at the multiplex, and while it's nowhere NEAR as awesome as it used to be, AMC MonsterFest still does a great job getting you in the mood for the single greatest day of the year.
There's actually some stuff coming out in theaters that I'm pretty amped to see. Jennifer's Body and Zombieland will be attended on opening day by yours truly, and there's also a remake of The Stepfather coming out soon. While I'm not a huge fan of the original, I actually feel that this is one of the rare remakes that could actually BENEFIT from a reimagining, so here's hoping the makers of this movie took some lessons from the older film and made some much-needed improvements.
Oh, and one last thing about Halloween 3D...Deadpool himself actually had a pretty badass idea about it that ties in with the original series' Season of the Witch entry. They could make this movie similar to the original Silver Shamrock story, only in this one, rather than being a mask company, Silver Shamrock is a movie studio. And they're putting out their latest scary flick on...Halloween day. And when the countless denizens put on their 3D glasses inside that movie theater, well, you don't want to see what happens to them.

Yeah, but the movie looks horrible, if you want to look at Megan Fox, internet friend.

You guys know what I saw last night for the first time ever (except for like a five minute segment when he popped back into "reality" at the crossroads), In The Mouth Of Madness. Absolutly loved it. I saw many things that inspired Silent Hill as well.

I saw many things that inspired Silent Hill as well. This movie made me realize that I loved Sam Neill....in a totally hetero way. Of course, he then made me fall that much farther in love with him as an actor with EVENT HORIZON....and in my humble opinion, he was totally deserving of the Horror HOF nod TR gave him in the WC Forums threads.

Out of all the horror projects that Neill has done (and he has done plenty), my ultimate favorite is still The Final Conflict. At the time, they were considering really high profile actors for adult Damien (think Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman), but in the end decided to go with a lesser-known guy who could really get into the character and that audiences wouldn't merely see as a famous face.
It obviously worked, at least to me. I consider that movie to be the best Omen movie ever made.

But The Final Conflict is the second best Omen movie mostly cause of Neill

Many people clamor over how much of a chameleon Robert Downey Jr is, or how good Jim Carrey is at getting into a character...but for my money, Sam Neill is just as much a chameleon, effortlessly blending into a variety of roles and making you forget he's even playing a character. I cannot WAIT for his next big horror project, the vampire opus DAYBREAKERS.

A lot of folks are going to bitch about vampire overkill, what with the new TWILIGHT entry coming out, TRUE BLOOD on HBO doing crazy well in the ratings and with word of mouth and all....but dammit, DAYBREAKERS looks to be a different take on the genre, and a fresh look at a possible reality/outcome for the bloodsuckers if they DID take over and turn us into cattle, as was suggested in one of the BLADE movies. Not to mention it sports one HELL of an awesome cast, with Neill, Ethan Hawke, and even Willem DaFoe!

Yep, I love the futuristic sci-fi take, along with the pretty much the human race IS vampires and they need to change something or doom humanity forever.
