I've seen those. I liked the Critic's review well enough, but I was surprised that the Nostalgia Chick didn't point out one of the things about the animated movie that always seemed odd to me: namely, the issue of scale in that movie.

Yup.
And watch, people are still going to claim that this movie is a failure that no one likes.

Transformers 2 is proof that a movie's success is not always measured by its critical reception.
All the critics are furious that this movie is doing well, which amuses me. Isn't the point of entertainment supposed to be that it entertains people, as opposed to a stuffy group of people that don't match public perception?

I'll be honest. When it comes to movies, I'm like the village idiot. I don't go to a movie and think about the script, or the acting, or any of that. I don't view movies as being "art". I go to be entertained, whether it's in a Godfather style or a Transformers style, and I don't see much difference in either of them when it comes to the quality of the acting, writing, whatever. It's all either just good and entertaining to me or bad and unentertaining to me, and I form my opinion on those terms and nothing else.
Not that there's anything wrong with viewing movies as an art-form, though. If people do, that's cool, but it's just not how I look at things. Which has apparently led to me considering some things to be good when others think they are the spawn of the s*** devil...

That's a nice Soundwave repaint, but the use of the 2007 Voyager Megatron makes it a deal breaker. If it was the new Voyager Megatron on the other hand, I might have some interest in it.

For comparison, the Whirl/Bludgeon two-pack is about 35 bucks, and that's just 1 Deluxe and 1 Voyager. So... this is probably going to be in the 50 dollar range, if not higher.

And the reason they are using the TF1 Megs is because it represent a spot in the prequel comics

Y'know... I have to admit... I like the colors for this new release of that mold, even if it does seem incredibly odd that they'd release the same mold for the same character twice in one year.

"Robots in disguise" and "More than meets the eye" are just such classic lines for the franchise that any exposure at all would make you familiar with them, be it commercials, hearing the original theme song on youtube or in a forum discussing cartoons, hearing or reading what someone has to say about it, whatever.
There are just some things about certain franchises that even non-fans are bound to learn eventually.
