So, is anyone else a big fan of this franchise? Collect the toys, watch the cartoons and movies, read the comics? If so, revel in the greatness that is Transformers right here. ;D ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

Last toy I bought of Transformers is when they re-issued the metal G1 figures a couple of years ago. I bought Thundercraker because he was on clearence at Toys R Us. I would have bought Prime, but a friend of mine from the video store bought the last one.
I'm a big fan of G1, kind of like Beast Wars and have memories of Headmasters (or whatever it was called) that was an extension of G1, but can't really say I'm as much of a fan of that one.

They've got the old G1 Prime out in stores again as part of the 25th Anniversary deal, but it costs about 70 bucks.
And I'm mostly a Beast Wars fan. I was around for the G1 era, but Beast Wars is when I really got into it, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart. I even have almost all of the Beast Wars figures, which includes the Beast Wars Neo and Beast Wars II figures released in Japan, as well as the animal-based figures of the Beast Machines line.

G1 was just a huge part of my childhood along with stuff like GI Joe, Thundercats and my favorite childhood cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Believe it or not I still have my He-Man sheets and pillow cases from when I was a child. They never get used, but they're in with the rest of the linens still.

GI Joe was big for me too, as a kid, as were shows like Thundercats and Silverhawks. In fact, Silverhawks was the first show I ever got a collection of on DVD.
Most of my DVD collection consists of Transformers, though. I have the complete collection of the G1 Transformers cartoon, all three seasons of the Beast Wars show, and a copy of the 2007 Transformers movie that comes in a special transforming Megatron case. And, together with the Silverhawks collection, that's all I have.
My biggest memories of the G1 cartoon as a kid were when I watched it while staying home sick. Whenever I had an ear infection or strept throat, my dad would rent me a Transformers video to watch. Needless to say, it made being sick a whole lot more fun than it otherwise would have been.

I have BOTH movies. And I've seen Transformers: Armada. Good show, just kinda put off by the humans AGAIN.

I've got the old animated movie as well; it came with the g1 cartoon collection pack I bought.
And Armada was a good show. All of the Unicron Trilogy cartoons were okay, in my opinion. But Beast Wars will always be my favorite. Code of Hero in particular was an amazing episode; possibly my favorite episode of any tv seres, animated or otherwise.

I love it always have always will. Michael Bay's movie just confirmed why I loved it as a kid. Plus it introduced me to everything from the Soundtrack for the 86 original to Megan Fox Oh Megan Fox. ![](http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc43/oblivion4life/megan%20fox/Megan_Fox-FHM_h07.jpg)

I heartily approve of Megan Fox as an addition to the world of Transformers.
And I too cannot wait for the new movie. So far, it's looking to be awesome.

I loved the old Transformers toys. My favorite of the toys was Ironhide from G1, but in the series my favorite by far was Soundwave. Don't know why that is though.

They recently had an updated version of G1 Ironhide for the Transformers Universe/Classics 2.0 line. If he was your favorite character, you might wanna check it out; it's a nifty little figure.

I might just have to do that. Most of my old Transformers either broke or were sold. Yet somehow I still have the giant 12 inch rubber wrestlers whose paint is peeling off. ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

The entire Universe/Classics line has been great. Basically, they just took the original characters (Ironhide, Sideswipe, Hound, etc) and made toys for them using modern technology. So, they look like the old G1 toys to an extent, but they have modern-style articulation.
So far, all of the original Transformers have gotten an updated toy save for Jazz, Wheeljack, and Trailbreaker, though the ones for the Decepticons are more expensive and harder to get.

I've been seriously thinking of buying the Transformers Animated Grimlock.
That's one sweet looking toy.

Yeah, he is pretty cool. They're even going to re-release him with a new color scheme once they start releasing more Animated figures.

So as someone who didn't grow up with either the G1 series or the Beast Wars series, which did you prefer above the other when you finally did see them?

G1 and Beast Wars were awesome! Animated looks interesting, I might check it out when I have the time. The Armada shows got on my nerves, but I'm a fan of their toys.
Transformers 2 is going to rock this summer!
